  • Libre Australian User Case

"Our previous scanning solution was not ideal in outdoor lighting situations. But mainly it was because you had to lug around a fairly big laptop, lots of cables, power supply, etc., which proved quite challenging when working on a boat fly bridge. So we use the EinScan Libre to basically go to the site so that we can scan items in a boat. For example, the cleaners or the canopy or the carpet. And that way we can take the data back to our office and we can reverse engineer it."

  • Libre UK User Case

"The multiple scanning modes of EinScan Libre are really good. You can use the laser mode, infrared mode. It has no issue with the shiny black surfaces, which is something that often tricks. And the fact that it's tracking without targets as well is really good. It's just been using the texture and geometry to track. That's been a really big help."

  • Libre Thailand User Case

"I've tried several wireless 3D scanners. EinScan libre stands out as the lightest, most compact, and most agile be far. I conducted 3D scans at various historical parks and museums. EinScan Libre can perform well both outdoors and indoors."

  • Libre Japan user case

There aren't many handy scanners that can be used outdoors, and I want to use them without a computer. If you use a laptop outdoors, it gets dusty, and even if you put it in a cardboard box, it becomes completely white. And two people have to walk along to carry the computer. The EinScan Libre is intuitive to use with a monitor and can handle wide-area outdoor scanning independently, which is great. And there's no need to buy an overpriced computer.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What's the minimum and maximum part size for the EinScan Libre?

The Laser HD mode's short working distance is designed to scan fine details and small parts, with a minimum part size of approximately 5 cm. In contrast, the Infrared (IR) mode offers a larger field of view (FOV), enabling efficient scanning of larger parts up to 10 m. This limit can be extended by aligning multiple scans of the same project.

  • Is there another way to process data besides directly on the EinScan Libre's screen?

The EinScan Libre is a standalone device, but we also developed the new EXScan Libre software– included– to provide even more powerful features to process your data. With EXScan Libre, you can manage multiple projects, fuse resolutions, and take advantage of various data editing tools, all with customizable settings to suit your needs.

  • How can I choose the right scanning mode for each of my projects?

For objects larger than 1x1x1 meter, we recommend the IR Rapid or IR Adaptive modes. The IR Adaptive mode is particularly effective for black or reflective surfaces but requires markers for tracking reference.

For objects smaller than 1x1x1 meter, the optimal choice is the Laser HD mode, which provides high-resolution detail and allows for feature or texture alignment, eliminating the need for markers.

For black or reflective materials, if marker placement is feasible, the wide-range laser mode is preferred. However, if markers cannot be placed, the small-range detailed mode is more suitable. Standard materials typically benefit from the IR Rapid mode, while projects with high precision requirements should utilize marker or global marker scanning modes for enhanced accuracy.

By considering these factors, you can choose the most suitable scanning mode for your specific parts.

  • What is texture alignment used for in Laser HD mode?

The texture alignment feature in Laser HD mode is specifically designed to assist in scanning objects with challenging surface materials, such as metallic finishes or colorful vases, which may have fewer identifiable features but are rich in texture.
  • What connectivity and power options does the EinScan Libre offer?

The EinScan Libre can be powered and charged through USB-C, which also facilitates data transfer and synchronization with EXScan Libre PC software. It also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Gigabit Ethernet for seamless network connectivity. Its USB 3.0 Type-A port is available for USB flash drive connection and data sharing.
  • How to get the most accurate data when scanning large objects?

To achieve the most accurate data when scanning large parts, utilize the EinScan Libre's global marker scanning feature. This process involves an initial scan to capture only the positions of the markers, with the projectors turned off to ensure accurate readings. Once the global marker scan is complete, you can proceed with the actual scanning. Optionally, using a precise calibration scale bar can significantly enhance overall volumetric accuracy.
